Re: Codec alternatives?
Flux. solder paste and hot air is the only way I will even attempt QFN. Soldering iron? NOPE! Yeah ! it took me a few attempts to get those to little QFN chips to solder correctly. I don't have solder paste so my process was flux on the PCB pads then tin all the pads by pulling the iron tip along a...

Re: First FXCore based pedal now shipping
We are also using the AK4619 at the moment as that was the only IC available to work with, we are only using 2ins/2outs. Initially we are using single ended inputs.
I hope to see the AK4558 getting released soon though as we will try that for any pedals that don't need the 4in/outs.

Re: Dev Board missing part??
Thanks, that is good news.Frank wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 7:31 am Minor design change.
The FT260 has internal EEPROM, originally we did not have a way to program it so we had to use an external EEPROM to configure the interface. We now have the ability to program the internal EEPROM of the FT260 so the external EEPROM was removed.

Dev Board missing part??
Hi Frank, I have just received a new FXC Dev Board but noticed there is no U602 in place on the PCB (CAT24C08 EEPROM), I wonder has there been a design change or do I need to contact my supplier for an exchange?

Re: Codec alternatives?
The new AK4619VN has just been released now, I have just bought a handful of these to check out. Specs are good and the one Codec chip can handle all 4ins and 4 outs. QFN package though so a little care is needed if hand soldering these. I'm using hot air or hot plate workstation rather than a tipp...
