Rev 1.3 dev boards
Do not power the board from the power jack. If you need to power the board away from a computer use a standard 5V USB power adapter.
Re: Rev 1.3 dev boards
Will that damage the board? I have already powered the board in that manner.
Re: Rev 1.3 dev boards
If powered for an extended period of time that way it can damage the FT260, we discovered the diodes have a higher reverse current so the voltage slowly rises above acceptable level. You can add a 4K7 resistor across C607 or C608 to fix this, I have purchased a reel of these and will mail some to you if you need one.
Re: Rev 1.3 dev boards
Hi Frank,
I spotted in the datasheet that at 4V reverse voltage difference the Schottky diode leakage is approaching 0.09mA at 25C. I've ordered a reel of 200 4k7 SMD resistors so don't worry about my Development Board I'll sort it out. It's an easy and neat fix.
