Latency between input & output

Hello,
I measured the latency between input and output signal from codec and it's about 800us. I suspect it's not a codec problem. Is it caused by sample processing time?

Assuming you are running at 48K sample rate which is a sample period of 20.8uS, 800uS is 38.48 sample periods so call it 39 sample periods.

AK4556 has a group delay of 18 samples for the ADC and 21 for the DAC which is 39 sample periods.

So basically the delay is due to the CODEC. An AK4558 can be configured to have a shorter delay so it comes down to which CODEC you use, how you configure it, etc.
